Kim Hye-jun reveals behind-the-scenes of kiss scene in 'My Favorite Employee'... "It took longer to film than expected"

Kim Hye-jun revealed behind-the-scenes stories of filming the kissing scenes in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama ″Favorite Employee.″ In an interview held at a café in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Kim Hye-jun shared various stories about ″Favorite Employee,″ which ended on the 8th. In this work, Kim Hye-jun played Nam Da-reum, a new employee who joined the startup Appello and pursued her long-time favorite. In the drama, Nam Da-reum experiences a thrilling encounter with fashion director Lee Chan (played by Cha Woo-min) and gradually develops a romantic relationship with CEO Kang Ha-gi (played by Kang Hoon). Kim Hye-jun talked about her experience filming romantic scenes in her first romantic comedy project. She said, ″The kissing scenes only appear briefly on screen, but I didn’t realize we had to film them for so long. The director was very serious about the romantic scenes. So we shot many takes. We filmed the kissing scenes for half a day.″ She also said, ″There were many scenes where we had to look into each other’s eyes, and in reality, we were much closer than it appears on screen. Since the camera doesn’t capture that closeness, we had to get even closer. It was embarrassing to hold eye contact for so long. I thought, ’How am I going to do this?’ but I endured it and eventually got used to it.″ About acting with Kang Hoon, she said, ″Kang Hoon has experience in melodrama. So he paid a lot of attention to the angles that make the romantic scenes look beautiful. He said, ’I’ll match you with the most flattering angle,’ and prioritized me.″ She added, ″Romantic scenes can be sensitive, embarrassing, and awkward, but he handled those scenes with care instead of making jokes about them. He was calm and considerate rather than joking around. I received a lot of consideration.″ Regarding her chemistry with Kang Hoon and Cha Woo-min, she said, ″All of us are introverts. But when introverts open their hearts, they become close very quickly. Since we got close, we could only rely on each other. It was nice and fun to meet and film together.″ She continued, ″Both of them are very kind and considerate, cheerful, and I learned a lot. I also learned that having lead actors who are cheerful is a great force that makes the set enjoyable.″
