Sung Si-kyung's 'Now, Today' Concert Successfully Concludes...On-Site Response Praised Amid Operational Controversy

Singer Sung Si-kyung held ’2026 Sung Si-kyung with friends [Well, Today]’ at the 88 Lawn Square in Olympic Park, Seoul, on the 5th and 6th of last month. This concert marked the first time the ’Well, Today’ series, which began in 2022, expanded from indoor venues to a picnic-style outdoor concert. Artists who have had musical connections with Sung Si-kyung, including Yang Hee-eun, Lee Jae-hoon, Won Mi-yeon, Kim Kwang-jin, Gummy, Kwon Jin-ah, Kim Jang-hoon, and Raisa, shared the stage. After the concert, various reactions regarding on-site operations emerged among the audience. Some attendees pointed out the lack of convenience facilities such as ticket prices, waiting times for entry, food and beverage facilities, insufficient shade, and waiting routes. One spectator complained, ″Although the ticket price for this concert is proudly 160,000 won per person and the start time is 6 p.m., we lined up until 11 a.m. and entered at 2 p.m. We were cooking under the scorching sun,″ expressing dissatisfaction with bag inspections, food restrictions, and the prices of food and beverages sold on-site. Online communities also shared reviews that the number of food trucks was insufficient, leading to long waits for food purchases, and that there was not enough shade or separate waiting areas to avoid the sun. On the other hand, some opinions noted that due to the nature of an outdoor picnic-style concert, it is difficult to expect the same level of convenience as an indoor concert. Some attendees responded that weather, waiting, and movement are factors to be endured in outdoor performances, and pointed out that the organizers need to improve convenience facilities such as shade, resting areas, and food and beverage supply in the future. Sung Si-kyung’s on-site response was positively evaluated. Concerned that early-arriving audience members might get tired from the long wait, he went on stage before the main performance and sang 3 to 4 of his songs, including a duet with Kim Kwang-jin. Kim Jang-hoon also joined the surprise stage. Sung Si-kyung greeted the audience, saying, ″Please enjoy the concert, food, and drinks well. I’m also worried because this is my first time doing this.″ Videos of Sung Si-kyung singing in front of waiting fans before the concert were shared online, showing him on stage in comfortable attire such as a hat and arm sleeves. During the main performance, Sung Si-kyung performed duets with all the guest artists and participated in chorus and performances. Toward the end of the concert, all performers sang ″Two People″ together, and after an encore request, they returned to the stage to perform ″The Road Coming to Me,″ sharing a final farewell with the audience. Neither the organizers nor Sung Si-kyung’s side issued a separate statement regarding the on-site operations of this concert. The event was evaluated as having potential for a new concert format while leaving room for improvements in operational aspects.
