'Married Woman Killer' Final Episode, Gong Hyo-jin Shocked by Gunshot Wound...Achieves Highest Ever Viewership Rating of 10.7%

MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ’Married Woman Killer’ aired its final episode on the 12th, achieving its highest ratings to date. According to Nielsen Korea, the nationwide viewership rating was 10.7%, with 10.4% in the metropolitan area, and the peak rating per minute reached 12.5%. Although it ended as the number one show in its time slot, it did not surpass this year’s highest MBC Friday-Saturday drama rating of ’21st Century Great Madam’ (13.8%). In the finale, Yoo Bo-na (Gong Hyo-jin) was shown getting shot in place of Kwon Tae-sung (Jung Joon-won) after a fight with Leila (Lee El-i-ya). Leila pulled the trigger aiming at Kwon Tae-sung, but Yoo Bo-na took the bullet instead, and Kwon Tae-sung, with the help of Sales Team 3, carried Yoo Bo-na out of the scene. Leila was shot and killed by the special forces. Awakening in the hospital, Yoo Bo-na realized that her husband Kwon Tae-sung had discovered her true identity. Kwon Tae-sung said, ″My conclusion is one thing. To protect you,″ but Yoo Bo-na replied, ″I will become your hell. We can’t go back to how things were,″ and left. Kwon Tae-sung visited Oki’s flower shop, confirmed Yoo Bo-na’s true feelings, and swallowed his tears. Lee Dong-jin (Lee Sang-yi) learned Yoo Bo-na’s identity but decided to keep it secret after Leila’s death. Kwon Tae-sung uncovered that the last victims of the Kingfisher case were connected to an overseas mother-daughter murder case, clearing Kingfisher’s name. Six months later, Kwon Tae-sung reunited with Yoo Bo-na at a mountain lodge filled with memories from eight years ago. Kwon Tae-sung confessed, ″Now I want to know. So I can love every side of you, Yoo Bo-na,″ and Yoo Bo-na shed tears as they reconciled. At the end of the broadcast, Yoo Bo-na was shown living an ordinary life, including a comeback victory at Kwon Yul’s (Hwang Bom-i) daycare sports day. However, after seeing news about a woman in her 30s stabbed to death, Yoo Bo-na revealed her killer instincts again, saying, ″Okay, shall we go?″ as the show ended.
