However, we do not conduct prior verification of the performer's family members. This is practically impossible," adding, "The corporation could not have known about this matter in advance."KBS further stated, "As stipulated in Article 13, Section 3 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, 'No citizen shall be punished for a criminal offense committed by a relative,' we believe it is not possible to take separate measures solely because of being a family member."On the 3rd, a post titled 'We are the bereaved family of the Busan Officetel Fall victim' was uploaded to the KBS viewer petition board. The author claimed, "My daughter was unjustly taken away," and "The perpetrator's sister is currently appearing in a KBS evening daily drama in a significant role."Addressing KBS, the post requested, "Please clarify your stance on whether you were aware of this fact and take responsible action as a public broadcasting station," and pleaded, "Please alleviate the family's injustice."Previously, in January 2024, a 20-year-old woman, Ms. A, fell to her death in an officetel in Busan. Her ex-boyfriend, Mr. B, was present at the scene, and police investigations revealed that Mr. B had engaged in persistent stalking and assault against Ms. A, who had requested a breakup.Mr. B was indicted on charges of stalking, intimidation, and refusal to vacate.
