Jungkook surpasses 25 million Instagram followers... 'Hooligan' challenge video reaches 100 million views in four days

BTS Jungkook’s personal Instagram account followers have surpassed 25 million. Since opening the new account last July, Jungkook exceeded 20 million followers in April and gained an additional 5 million in about five months. Jungkook had previously operated an account with 52.4 million followers. In February 2023, he deleted the existing account that had about 52.4 million followers. At that time, addressing fans’ concerns about hacking, Jungkook explained, ″I left Instagram. It’s not hacking. I just deleted it because I stopped using it,″ and revealed that he also deleted the app. The new account showed rapid growth from the moment it was created. Even with no posts last July, the follower count exceeded 9 million within a few days. However, it was not without difficulties. On May 27, the account, which had over 21.6 million followers, was blocked. Instagram informed that ″Your account or activities from your account do not comply with the terms of use related to intellectual property rights, including trademark policies.″ Jungkook shared this screen on his TikTok with a question mark, and the account was restored the next day. Currently, Jungkook’s account has about 30 posts, and the impact of individual content is significant. Notably, the ’Hooligan’ challenge video released last April, showing him riding a bike through the city, surpassed 100 million views within four days and later reached 120 million views. As of early July, the video recorded 12.26 million likes and 2.58 million reposts, ranking second worldwide in Instagram post reposts after Lionel Messi. Recently, Jungkook’s influence has been evident outside the account as well. On the 7th, a video of Jungkook taking off his shirt at the BTS world tour ’ARIRANG’ concert held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles became a hot topic. Billboard USA posted this scene on their official Instagram, and pop star Justin Bieber directly reposted it on his account. Bieber has about 280 million followers, and the video was one of eight shared posts on Bieber’s account at the time. Jungkook also reacted by posting the screen of Bieber sharing the video on his own SNS.
