Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun Hold Hands in Romantic New Poster for ‘Love Doctor’

ENA’s upcoming drama places an emotionally guarded doctoral student and a determined graduate student at the center of a quiet romance shaped by loss, uncertainty and second chances.

A quiet bus ride may be all it takes to begin a new love story.

ENA has released the main poster for its upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama Love Doctor, offering the clearest look yet at the relationship between Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun’s characters.

The poster shows Im Yoo Jin resting her head on Park Min Jae’s shoulder as sunlight fills the bus. Their hands are firmly intertwined, while Yoo Jin wears a small, peaceful smile. It is an understated image, but one that suggests the two characters have already found a sense of comfort that neither possessed when their story began.

Rather than selling the drama through an extravagant confession or dramatic kiss, the poster focuses on a quieter form of intimacy: being able to rest beside someone without needing to explain yourself.

Choo Young Woo Plays a Former Athlete Rebuilding His Future

Choo Young Woo stars as Park Min Jae, a doctoral student who was once a promising competitive swimmer.

His athletic career ended after an illness resulted in the loss of his right leg. With the future he had prepared for suddenly gone, Min Jae redirected his life toward robotics and began pursuing a new purpose through research.

He is described as diligent and patient, but emotionally guarded. His recovery is not presented simply as a physical process. Min Jae must also determine who he is after losing the identity that once defined his ambitions.

That distinction could give the drama more depth than a conventional campus romance. Love does not arrive to erase his disability or restore his former life. Instead, his relationship with Yoo Jin develops while he is already building a different future on his own terms.

The role also gives Choo an opportunity to combine the emotional sensitivity of his romantic performances with a character shaped by discipline, grief and adaptation.

Kim So Hyun Enters an Unfamiliar World Without Hesitation

Kim So Hyun plays Im Yoo Jin, a fashion student approaching graduation without a clear path forward.

After an unspecified incident leaves her labeled a troublemaker within her department, her plans to attend graduate school in fashion are blocked. Her encounter with Min Jae then introduces her to robotics, an academic world far removed from the career she originally imagined.

Yoo Jin is not portrayed as someone who quietly waits for her circumstances to improve. She brings determination and momentum into Min Jae’s carefully controlled life, pursuing both her new research interests and her feelings with unusual directness.

Their romance is therefore built around two people facing different versions of the same problem. Min Jae has lost the future he expected, while Yoo Jin no longer knows where her original path leads. The robotics laboratory becomes a place where both can experiment with new identities as well as new technology.

The Poster Suggests Comfort Will Matter More Than Spectacle

The main poster’s bus setting reflects the emotional tone Love Doctor appears to be pursuing.

Min Jae and Yoo Jin are not looking dramatically into each other’s eyes. They are sitting side by side, sharing an ordinary journey. Yoo Jin’s head on his shoulder and their joined hands suggest that intimacy will develop through accumulated moments rather than a single grand gesture.

The production team described the drama as a relatable story about the imperfect way young people learn to love. It also praised the chemistry between Choo and Kim, saying the two actors exceeded expectations while portraying characters who are still emotionally unfinished.

That description fits the poster’s central image. Min Jae and Yoo Jin may not have solved every problem in their lives, but they appear to have found a person beside whom uncertainty feels less overwhelming.

‘Love Doctor’ Is Director Ahn Pan Seok’s Final Drama

The series carries particular significance as the final work directed by Ahn Pan Seok, who died in August 2026 after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage.

During a career spanning nearly four decades, Ahn developed a distinctive style built around restrained performances, realistic conversations and the complicated power dynamics inside seemingly ordinary relationships. His credits include Secret Love Affair, Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, The Midnight Romance in Hagwon and Behind the White Tower.

Filming and editing for Love Doctor had reportedly been completed before his death, allowing the series to proceed with its planned broadcast. YTN identified the drama as Ahn’s final directing project.

The screenplay was written by Min Hyo Jung, whose previous works include the influential romantic comedies Full House and Attic Cat. Her return to a television miniseries adds another reason for viewers to watch how the drama balances youthful romance with the more observant emotional style associated with Ahn.

A Romance About Living Without a Finished Answer

The title Love Doctor may sound as if its characters understand relationships, but Min Jae and Yoo Jin appear to be anything but experts.

Both enter the story with interrupted plans and unresolved emotions. Their connection does not promise to return them to the lives they once expected. Instead, it offers the possibility of building something new while accepting that neither person is fully certain about what comes next.

That may be the meaning behind the poster’s peaceful bus ride. The characters do not need to know every destination yet. For the moment, they have chosen to travel together.

Love Doctor premieres October 5 at 10 p.m. KST on ENA. It will also be available through KT Genie TV and Disney+.
