ZEROBASEONE members SEOK MATTHEW and PARK GUNWOOK are starting activities as the unit ZEROBASEONE EMP. WakeOne announced on the 18th that the two will release ZEROBASEONE EMP’s first mixtape through various online music sites at 6 p.m. on the 21st. This marks the first time a unit from ZEROBASEONE, which debuted in July 2023, has launched. On the 18th at midnight, SEOK MATTHEW and PARK GUNWOOK revealed the ZEROBASEONE EMP logo through ZEROBASEONE’s official SNS channels. The released video featured a logo with a rough yet sophisticated texture. The unit name ZEROBASEONE EMP is inspired by ’Electro Magnetic Pulse,’ symbolizing the aspiration to create a space where only the music of the two exists, as all surrounding sounds are blocked the moment an EMP bursts. Additionally, EMP combines the ’E’ from ’Extra’ and the initials ’M’ and ’P’ from the English names of SEOK MATTHEW and PARK GUNWOOK. ’EXTRA’ means ’beyond ordinary.’ WakeOne said, ″Please look forward to the synergy of the two members and the music world they have directly produced.″
