CORTIS 'GREENGREEN', cumulative 4.1 million copies... BTS 'Arirang' surpasses 4 million copies this year

CORTIS’s second mini album ’GREENGREEN’ has surpassed 4 million in cumulative sales. According to the weekly album chart released by Circle Chart on the 17th, CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)’s second mini album ’GREENGREEN’ recorded approximately 4.1 million cumulative sales. This year, the albums that exceeded 4 million cumulative sales domestically were BTS’s ’Arirang’ and ’GREENGREEN.’ ’GREENGREEN’ showed high sales volume immediately after its release. According to Hanteo Chart, the initial sales volume was 2,313,291 copies, about five times higher compared to the previous album ’COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,’ which had initial sales of 436,467 copies. After surpassing 3 million cumulative sales on Circle Chart within 11 weeks of release, it continued steady popularity by adding 1 million more copies in about two months. The title track ’REDRED’ and the included track ’YOUNGCREATORCREW’ received positive responses for their fresh sound and lyrics, and album-related merchandise such as LPs, lip balms, dice, and CORTIS balls stimulated fans’ desire to collect. In August, the extended version ’GREENGREEN_playextended,’ which included new songs ’PACK IT UP’ and ’MONEYMONEYMONEY,’ was released, maintaining interest. The success of ’GREENGREEN’ continued overseas as well. The album entered the US Billboard main album chart ’Billboard 200’ at number 3 as of May 23 and ranked 188 on the chart dated September 19, marking 18 consecutive weeks on the chart. The debut album ’COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,’ released last September, has sold approximately 2.3 million copies cumulatively as of the 17th according to Circle Chart. It is estimated that about 1 million copies were sold this year alone. CORTIS achieved cumulative sales of over 6.4 million copies with two albums in just over a year since debut.
