The movie ″The Intern″ has consecutively held the number one spot at the box office. According to the Korea Film Council’s integrated ticket sales network on the 21st, ″The Intern″ attracted 275,182 viewers over the three-day weekend from the 18th to the 20th, securing the top position at the box office. The cumulative audience count reached 400,902. Since its release on the 16th, ″The Intern″ has maintained the number one spot at the box office for five consecutive days. It took the lead from ″Odyssey″ on its opening day and has shown steady success ahead of the Chuseok holiday. The film depicts a cross-generational office life story that unfolds when Ki-ho (Choi Min-sik), a silver intern with 37 years of experience, joins the company of Sun-woo (Han So-hee), a representative who has grown into a dark horse in the fashion industry three years after launching. During the same period, Christopher Nolan’s ″Odyssey″ took second place at the box office. ″Odyssey″ drew 256,792 viewers over the weekend, with a cumulative audience of 11,217,640. In third place was ″Obsession″ (131,467 viewers, cumulative 701,713), fourth was ″Resident Evil: The 0th Night″ (80,778 viewers, cumulative 103,653), and fifth was ″Spider-Man: Brand New Day″ (33,635 viewers, cumulative around 8.99 million). As of 8:04 a.m. on the 21st, in terms of advance ticket sales, ″Assassin(s)″ ranked first with 153,097 tickets, followed by ″Odyssey″ (117,143 tickets), ″Tazza: The Belzebub’s Song″ (73,305 tickets), ″The Intern″ (43,908 tickets), and ″Avengers: Endgame Encore″ (36,291 tickets).
