BTS to perform 14 shows in 5 South American cities in October... Bogotá, Santiago, and other local cities excited

BTS is scheduled to hold 14 performances in five South American cities in October, and local governments and tourism authorities in each city have begun various preparations to accommodate large audiences. In Bogotá, Colombia, the starting point of the South American tour, the official tourism site ’Visit Bogotá’ introduced BTS’s concert as a major cultural event. The site described ″BTS as one of the representative groups of 21st-century global pop, based on music, large-scale performances, and a strong bond with ARMY worldwide,″ emphasizing that Bogotá has become one of the world’s major music stages by 2026. In La Plata, Argentina, ahead of the performances on October 21 and 23-24, the city, provincial government, and production company have collaborated to prepare for the audience. Local media El Día cited La Plata’s estimates predicting that more than 150,000 people will gather in the city, with many visitors coming from abroad, including the United States, Colombia, Chile, and Uruguay. Mayor Julio Alak stated that he held a working meeting with the production company, Buenos Aires Province, and La Plata’s security and urban control departments to discuss a comprehensive operation plan. In July, the La Plata City Council unanimously passed a motion to designate BTS as ’honorary guests,’ citing the cultural influence of the seven members, promotion of youth rights, and participation in international cultural activities as reasons for the selection. In Lima, Peru, ahead of BTS’s visit, the K-pop cultural event ’Road to 7: El Comienzo’ was held at Lima Fountain Park on October 12-13. The event featured various programs, including dance covers, video screenings, and cultural programs. Lima Fountain Park is registered in the Guinness World Records as the largest public park fountain complex in the world. Chile also introduced the Santiago concert as a major event in the ’Festivals and Events - Culture & Heritage’ category through the official tourism promotion site Chile Travel. Chile Travel stated, ″The global K-pop craze lands in Chile. Santiago will transform into the global center of K-pop with BTS’s return.″ This tour by BTS is especially meaningful as it is the first time the full group will perform in Colombia, Peru, and Argentina.
