'Assassin(s)' surpasses 288,000 on the first day of Chuseok, maintaining No.1 at the box office

According to the Korea Film Council’s integrated computer network, the movie ″Assassin(s)″ attracted 288,485 viewers on September 24, the first day of the Chuseok holiday, securing the number one spot at the overall box office. It maintained the top position for two consecutive days following its opening day, with a cumulative audience of 447,073. ″Assassin(s)″ depicts the investigation into the suspicions and background of the assassination attempt on the First Lady of South Korea on August 15, 1974, which shocked the nation. Yoo Hae-jin passionately portrayed Cheol-gu, a detective who witnessed the assassination attempt at the scene; Park Hae-il played Jae-hwan, a reporter and social affairs chief at Dongsin Ilbo; and Lee Min-ho took on the role of Young-il, a rookie reporter at Dongsin Ilbo pursuing the truth behind the incident. Jung Woo-sung, Park Jung-min, Uhm Tae-woong, Park Sung-hoon, Shim Eun-kyung, Park Ji-hwan, Park Hae-joon, Shin Hyun-bin, Oh Jung-se, Lim Won-hee, Ryu Kyung-soo, Park Hoon, and Uhm Ji-won also appeared in various roles or special cameos. The real-time reservation rate also recorded high numbers. As of 9:07 a.m. on the 25th, the real-time reservation rate was 31.9%, ranking first, with 284,309 people booking tickets.
