'I Live Alone' ratings hit a low of 3.5%... Aftermath of directing controversy

The MBC variety show ″I Live Alone″ is attempting a new change by announcing actor Kim Min as a cast member amid a recent decline in viewership ratings. ″I Live Alone″ recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 3.5% in its broadcast on the 25th. This is 0.7 percentage points lower than the previous episode’s 4.2%, marking the lowest rating in recent broadcasts. Since recording 6.5% on August 21 last year, the program has shown a downward trend with 5.2% on September 4, 4.8% on the 11th, 4.2% on the 18th, and 3.5% on the 25th. Previously, there was a controversy over directing related to Jun Hyun-moo’s impromptu travel episode, and the production team admitted to some directing in certain scenes last September. Some viewers criticized the production team’s explanation. In this situation, the program will feature actor Kim Min in next week’s broadcast. In the preview released at the end of the broadcast on the 25th, Kim Min revealed, ″I have lived alone for 28 years,″ and it was previewed that he lives in an 80- to 90-year-old old house in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province. Kim Min will show a modest daily life, including living alone while repairing his house himself and having breakfast with a baguette and coffee in front of a folding screen. Additionally, Kim Min will be shown riding a bike to a hapkido gym, teaching young students as a hapkido instructor. He is expected to reveal a daily life different from his intense image as an actor. Kim Min has appeared in Disney+’s ″Casino,″ the films ″The Outlaws 3,″ ″Smuggling,″ Netflix’s ″Delivery Man,″ ″The Thief: Sound of the Sword,″ Disney+’s ″Killer’s Shopping Mall,″ and others. Especially in ″Killer’s Shopping Mall,″ he showcased action acting as ″Pashin,″ a colleague of Lee Dong-wook and a martial arts instructor to Kim Hye-jun. Recently, he has continued his activities in Wavve’s ″Reverse″ and tvN’s ″For Hands.″
