BTS wins 'Song of the Year' at MTV Awards...Honored for the first time in 5 years with the title track 'Swim'

BTS won the ’Song of the Year’ award at the ’2026 MTV Video Music Awards’ (MTV VMA) held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, USA. At this ceremony, BTS took home the ’Song of the Year’ trophy, a major category, with the title track ″SWIM″ from their fifth full-length album ARIRANG. The ’Song of the Year’ category featured various nominees competing, including Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter’s ″Bring Your Love,″ PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson’s ″Stateside,″ and LE’s ″WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!″ BTS was the first Korean artist to be nominated for ’Song of the Year’ at the MTV VMA in 2021 with ″Dynamite,″ but did not win. They achieved the honor of winning in the same category after five years. In addition, BTS was nominated in a total of three categories at the 2026 MTV VMA, including ’Best K-pop’ and ’Best Group.’
