BTS surpasses $500 million in the world tour 'Arirang'... First pop group to achieve this record

BTS became the first pop group to surpass $500 million (approximately 680 billion KRW) in cumulative revenue from a single tour with their world tour ″ARIRANG.″ According to Boxscore data released by the U.S. music media Billboard on the 30th of last month (local time), BTS’s ″ARIRANG″ tour achieved $500 million in revenue, ranking seventh among all groups in history. The six teams that previously set this record were all rock bands. In August alone, BTS held 12 concerts, generating ticket sales of $171.7 million (approximately 230 to 234 billion KRW) and attracting about 800,000 attendees. This placed them at number one on the ″Top Tours″ chart, marking the second-highest monthly revenue in Billboard Boxscore history, with Beyoncé’s 2023 August tour at $179.3 million holding first place. All 12 shows held in six North American cities were sold out, and all six city performances entered the August ″Top Boxscore″ chart. Five of these shows ranked within the ″Top 10.″ Notably, the two performances at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, generated $32.7 million (approximately 44.4 to 44.5 billion KRW) in revenue and drew about 158,000 attendees. BTS is scheduled to start their South American tour in October in Bogotá, Colombia, and will continue through Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil before moving to Taiwan in November. Billboard projected that considering the remaining approximately 40 shows, the final cumulative revenue will reach $1 billion (approximately 1.36 trillion KRW). This is the fifth time BTS has topped the ″Top Tours″ chart, ranking high behind Bad Bunny, who has topped it 10 times, and Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Elton John, who have each topped it seven times.
