'KiiiKii PangPang' Episode 23, Caring for Large Dogs at a Shelter for Abandoned Dogs... Cast Members "Support Family Reunions"

At the abandoned dog shelter ″Big Dog Forest,″ KiiiKii PangPang members participated in volunteer work caring for large and elderly dogs. On that day, the members arrived at the shelter and listened to Director Jang In-sook explain the shelter’s role and the stories of the rescued dogs. The shelter houses large and elderly dogs waiting for families, some of whom are afraid of people due to emotional trauma. Director Jang said, ″Most of these dogs have deep emotional wounds, so many are afraid of people,″ and explained that the shelter’s role is to train them to meet their families. Various dogs were introduced, including recently rescued Lucky and Vicky, Bong-sik who is waiting for adoption, and 15-year-old elderly dog Gureum. The members began cleaning and organizing both indoors and outdoors. They thoroughly cleaned the living spaces of the dogs, such as Mint-dong, and tidied up the dogs’ waste, blankets, and toys. During the cleaning process, the members interacted with the dogs by calling their names and asked the director about the rescued dogs’ characteristics, ages, and genders. They then bathed the dogs to help them become familiar with water and prepared special meals to feed them. The members personally prepared the ingredients, making special meals with chicken breast and vegetables, and expressed pride as they watched the dogs eat well. During bath time, the members carefully washed the dogs, taking care not to get water in their ears. After washing, they dried the dogs’ fur in the drying room and made sure the dogs could rest comfortably. Afterwards, at the shelter’s request, the members also helped take photos to assist with the dogs’ adoption. They divided roles to attract the dogs’ attention and took photos from various angles in natural light to complete the adoption profile pictures. After finishing the volunteer work, the members said that although the time was short, they grew fond of the dogs and hoped they would find good families. They also expressed a desire to visit again and participate in volunteer work if time permits.
