RM unveils 140 artworks collected over 10 years... Large-scale exhibition at SFMOMA

Artworks collected by RM over the past 10 years have been extensively exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) in the United States. This exhibition has attracted significant attention as RM participated as a co-curator, fully reflecting his artistic insight and taste. More than 140 pieces collected by RM were displayed in the exhibition hall. RM was responsible not only for selecting these works but also for choosing the music played throughout the exhibition, showcasing his diverse sensibilities. As the first K-pop artist to collaborate with SFMOMA, this exhibition is regarded as a new attempt to connect the art and music worlds. At the exhibition site, RM appeared serious as he personally explained his collection. Images were revealed of him appreciating the artworks dressed in a black hoodie and speaking into a microphone in front of a large screen to convey the exhibition’s intent, highlighting his qualities as an artist. Although RM usually shares a simple daily life on social media, saying ″I live a carefree life,″ this exhibition presents a deeper side of him as an artist, drawing attention from fans and art enthusiasts alike. A museum official stated, ″RM’s art collection and curation have shown new possibilities through this exhibition,″ adding, ″It will be an important exhibition that revitalizes the cultural and artistic community after the pandemic.″ RM plans to continue active exchanges in various artistic fields, including music, in the future. This exhibition is expected to be recorded as a case where a K-pop star connects with the global art world and expands cultural boundaries.
