T.O.P Fan Exhibition Canceled as Timing Fuels Debate After Nana Dating Confirmation

Organizers cited weak reservations and continued cancellations, but no evidence has confirmed that T.O.P’s relationship with Nana caused the event to collapse.

A fan-organized exhibition celebrating T.O.P’s first solo studio album has been canceled after reservations fell dramatically below expectations, prompting speculation over whether the singer and actor’s recently confirmed relationship with Nana affected attendance.

ChoiSeunghyun.com, a Korean fan site dedicated to the former BIGBANG member, announced on October 4 that its upcoming photo exhibition would no longer take place. The event had been scheduled for October 31 and November 1.

Inspired by T.O.P’s solo album Another Dimension, known in Korean as 다중관점, the exhibition was intended to become the fan site’s first major photo showcase.

Reservations Fell Below 100

According to the organizers, the exhibition was initially planned for approximately 300 visitors across two days.

That target was already smaller than the scale of previous fan events. Organizers said they had reduced capacity after considering T.O.P’s ongoing tour schedule and the circumstances of fans who might otherwise have attended.

However, reservations reached only about 25 percent of the expected total after booking opened. This meant fewer than 100 people had applied to attend.

The fan site had already signed the venue contract and paid a deposit. Despite the weak initial response, organizers said they intended to proceed with the exhibition and absorb the additional financial loss to honor their commitment to those who had reserved places.

The situation changed after a new wave of cancellations.

According to the announcement, cancellation requests continued over the following two days, reducing projected attendance to approximately 10 to 15 percent of the original daily target. Organizers ultimately concluded that the exhibition could not operate in its intended format or at its planned scale.

They apologized to fans who had made reservations and acknowledged that the decision was particularly painful because the project had been prepared over an extended period.

Did T.O.P and Nana’s Relationship Affect the Exhibition?

The timing immediately attracted attention because the cancellation announcement came two days after T.O.P and Nana publicly confirmed their relationship.

On October 2, T.O.P’s agency, Topspot Pictures, said the two stars first met during the filming of the music video for “완전미쳤어!” in April. They reportedly grew closer and developed a romantic relationship around June.

Nana’s agency, Sublime, also confirmed that the pair met through the music video and were continuing a positive relationship. Nana later told fans that they would date happily and healthily.

The rapid decline in exhibition reservations following the confirmation has led some online users to suggest that the dating news may have influenced certain fans.

That connection, however, remains speculation.

The fan site did not identify T.O.P’s relationship as the reason for the cancellation. Its statement referred only to low initial reservations, continued withdrawal requests and the practical difficulty of operating the exhibition with such limited attendance.

The exhibition was also experiencing weak demand before the additional cancellations began. It is therefore impossible to determine from the available information how many cancellations, if any, were directly connected to the relationship announcement.

A Fan Project, Not an Official T.O.P Event

Another important distinction is that the canceled exhibition was organized by a fan site. It was not presented as an official event produced by T.O.P, his agency or the team behind his solo album.

Fan exhibitions depend heavily on advance reservations because organizers must cover venue rental, printing, installations, merchandise and operating expenses. When attendance falls significantly below the projected level, proceeding can become financially and logistically difficult even when a dedicated group of fans remains interested.

For that reason, the cancellation should not automatically be treated as a complete measure of T.O.P’s wider fandom, album performance or solo career.

T.O.P returned to music in 2026 with Another Dimension, his first full-length solo album and his most substantial musical project since leaving BIGBANG. He has also been meeting audiences across Asia through the T.O.P PRE-STUDIO 2026 tour.

The canceled exhibition nevertheless arrives at a sensitive moment. It places renewed attention on how celebrity dating news can affect fan communities, especially when fan-funded projects rely on a relatively small number of highly engaged supporters.

For now, the confirmed explanation is straightforward: reservations were already lower than expected, additional cancellations followed and organizers decided the exhibition could no longer operate as planned.

Whether T.O.P’s relationship with Nana contributed to that decline has not been established.
