'I Live Alone' Kim Min denies allegations of directing old house... Production team: "Actual life, no setting"

In response to allegations of staging related to Kim Min’s episode of living in an old house on ’I Live Alone,’ both Kim Min and MBC have issued separate clarifications. The production team of MBC’s ’I Live Alone’ stated to Xportsnews on the 7th that Kim Min is indeed living in the house featured in the broadcast, and that the production team did not set up or stage any situations. They also explained that regarding questions about the use of the generator, the footage shows the actual use of the generator in accordance with the housing environment, and there was no staging for the broadcast. On the broadcast on the 2nd, Kim Min revealed his daily life living in an approximately 90-year-old old house in Dongducheon. He attracted attention by showing how he uses a generator to supply electricity and repairs the house himself. After the broadcast, some viewers raised suspicions of staging based on differences between the house seen on road view and the broadcast footage, as well as the presence of nearby utility poles. In response, Kim Min denied the allegations in an interview with Star Today on the 6th, saying, ″There was absolutely no manipulation or setup.″ While expressing gratitude for viewers’ various curiosities, he also said he felt heavy-hearted due to unexpected stories that emerged. Previously, ’I Live Alone’ also faced authenticity controversies over Jun Hyun-moo’s impromptu trip to Kazakhstan. The production team explained that although they received cooperation from the Almaty Tourism Board in Kazakhstan at the time, there was no financial sponsorship or production funding support.
