Lee Seung-gi "Hate comments hurt, both then and now"... Reveals severed ties with in-laws

Lee Seung-gi shared their thoughts on malicious comments. In the video titled ″High school students’ reactions to Lee Seung-gi’s live broadcast?″ released on October 8 on the channel ’Green Umbrella,’ Lee Seung-gi participated in the after-school music class content, visited Sanggye High School, communicated with students, and performed songs. During a conversation with the students, when one student asked, ″When you become famous, you will probably receive a lot of malicious comments. How did you endure them?″ Lee Seung-gi replied, ″In the past, malicious comments hurt. They still hurt now. When people say unpleasant things, of course, it is emotionally difficult. This is not a matter of getting used to it.″ They continued, ″I just accept it and live with it,″ adding, ″If I really did something wrong, I should reflect on it, but if I didn’t do anything wrong and for some unknown reason I am being criticized, sometimes it’s necessary to just let it go.″ They also advised, ″Thinking too much about things that make me angry is bad for me. It ruins the day,″ and ″Everyone experiences such things in life. It doesn’t only happen to famous people. I hope people become strong and handle it with composure.″ Meanwhile, after Lee Seung-gi’s father-in-law Mr. Lee was indicted last year, Lee Seung-gi expressed their feelings, saying, ″Although a fine was imposed in the retrial for the illegal acts that had been continuously raised against my father-in-law, recently he has been indicted again by the investigative authorities for similar illegal acts.″ They later stated, ″This incident has severely damaged the trust within the family, and after much consideration, my spouse and I have decided to sever ties with the in-laws.″ Lee Seung-gi married Lee Da-in, daughter of Kyeon Mi-ri, in 2023. Last month, Lee Seung-gi’s father-in-law Mr. Lee was brought to trial on charges including violation of the Capital Markets Act. On September 29, the Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Division 15 (Presiding Judge Noh Yoo-kyung) sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months in prison, a fine of 400 million won, and a confiscation of approximately 125.5 million won. Mr. Lee and 12 others are accused of stock manipulation, gaining an unfair profit totaling about 14 billion won.
