BTS's 5th Full Album 'Arirang' Surpasses 5 Billion Streams on Spotify... This Year's Highest Record

BTS has surpassed 5 billion cumulative streams on Spotify with their fifth studio album, ’ARIRANG.’ According to Spotify data, as of the 14th, ’ARIRANG’ recorded the highest number of streams among albums released this year. It exceeded Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album, ’you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love,’ which ranked second, by about 2 billion streams. New releases by Bruno Mars and Harry Styles, released around the same time, recorded streams in the range of 1 to 2 billion each. The album includes 14 tracks, including ’No. 29,’ which features the bell sound of the Seongdeokdaewang Sinjong, and all of them have surpassed 200 million individual streams. The title track, ’SWIM,’ is approaching 1 billion cumulative streams. ’ARIRANG’ is BTS’s first new album in about 3 years and 9 months, and on its release day, March 20, all tracks on Spotify were streamed over 110 million times. On the same day, the album occupied the top 14 spots on the ’Daily Top Songs Global’ chart, with ’SWIM’ reaching number one with approximately 14 million streams. This is the highest daily stream count for any song released this year. On the US Billboard main album chart, the ’Billboard 200,’ the album debuted at number one on the April 4 chart and maintained the top position for three consecutive weeks. This marks the first time since Mumford & Sons’ ’Babel’ in 2012 that a group album has held the number one spot on the ’Billboard 200’ for three consecutive weeks.
