CORTIS James releases self-made cover video for his birthday... Message of 'confrontation with the past' draws attention

CORTIS member James released the cover music video ’[BDAY Project] Paris Texas - Everybody’s Safe Until...,’ which he personally planned and produced for the fandom core (COER), on the team’s official YouTube channel at midnight on the 14th. This video is a cover music video of the original song by the American hip-hop duo Paris Texas, featuring footage personally filmed by James. James led the entire production process, from song selection to choreography creation, directing, and editing. The video credits state, ″Directed and edited by JAMES.″ Under the theme ″To be reborn, you must fight your past self,″ James is seen holding a vintage camcorder and acting out a confrontation with himself in an alley. The video includes original action choreography and tense facial expressions created by James, ending with the subtitle ″October 14″ and the voice saying, ″It’s my birthday.″ Despite the schedule of the team’s first summer tour, ″PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN,″ James took time to oversee the entire concept, collaborate with the filming team, manage camera angles, special effects, shooting routes, editing, and color correction. Starting with James, CORTIS plans to release special content from each member on their respective birthdays. Juho on January 3, Sunghyun on January 13, Gunho on February 14, and Martin on March 20 will sequentially unveil their creative works. Meanwhile, CORTIS’s second mini-album ’GREENGREEN,’ released last May, has accumulated 500 million streams on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify as of October 12. On the latest weekly Circle Chart album chart (tracking period: September 27 to October 3), it sold over 4.35 million copies. The five members are scheduled to perform on major stages such as ’The 18th Melon Music Awards, MMA2026’ at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on November 14-15, and the ’2026 MAMA AWARDS’ at Kyocera Dome Osaka, Japan, on November 20-21.
