Fans Flock to McDonald’s for G-Dragon’s Exclusive Hat Launch

Fans arrived hours before the PEACEMINUSONE launch, while one crowded outlet reportedly lowered its shutters temporarily to manage customers.

G-Dragon’s latest merchandise collaboration brought fans to McDonald’s outlets across Singapore before sales even began.

The limited-edition PEACEMINUSONE collection launched on October 8 at 11 a.m., with a vintage hat drawing particularly strong interest. Long queues formed at participating restaurants, and one crowded outlet was photographed with its shutters lowered.

The launch came ahead of BIGBANG’s October 17 and 18 concerts at Singapore’s National Stadium, extending the excitement beyond the concert venue.

A Limited Hat Brings Fans Out Early

The collection includes a tote bag, a pin set and a vintage hat created with G-Dragon’s fashion label, PEACEMINUSONE.

McDonald’s Singapore advertised the hat as an exclusive offer for MyM members: S$9.90 with a minimum spend of S$10. It was offered at only 10 selected outlets.

According to AsiaOne, each participating restaurant had 900 hats available on a first-come, first-served basis.

That limited allocation encouraged some fans to arrive well before the 11 a.m. launch. Citing Shin Min Daily News, AsiaOne reported that more than 60 people queued outside the Funan outlet that morning. The first customer reportedly arrived at 9 a.m.

One Customer Worked While Waiting

The queue also became a temporary workspace for one fan.

A customer identified by the surname Huang was seen using a laptop while waiting. She told Shin Min Daily News that she and her daughter were enthusiastic G-Dragon fans, and that working remotely allowed her to join the line.

The scene offered a glimpse of how buyers fitted the merchandise launch into their daily schedules, with some setting aside the morning to secure an item.

Canberra Outlet Temporarily Lowers Its Shutters

At Canberra Plaza, another participating location, a mall visitor photographed the McDonald’s outlet with its shutters down.

The restaurant appeared to be filled with customers waiting for their orders. Shin Min Daily News reported that the shutters were believed to have been lowered temporarily to help manage the crowd.

The reporting describes a crowd-management measure at that outlet. It does not establish that the restaurant closed for the day.

The Collaboration Includes Mystery Photocards

The campaign extends beyond the hat.

McDonald’s Singapore’s official promotion lists a tote bag for S$12.90 and a pin set for S$5.90 with a meal purchase. The two were also advertised together for S$18.80 with a meal.

Customers purchasing a Spicy Bulgogi Chicken Burger meal could receive one mystery photocard from three designs.

These are the advertised promotion terms, rather than confirmation that merchandise remains available at every participating location. Availability is subject to remaining stock.

BIGBANG’s Singapore Shows Follow This Weekend

G-Dragon will perform with Taeyang and Daesung at the National Stadium on October 17 and 18.

The venue’s official event listing confirms both dates as part of BIGBANG’s 2026–2027 XX: COSMOS world tour.

The merchandise launch gave local fans another way to participate in the buildup, with the collaboration combining a restaurant promotion and collectible fashion accessories.

Editor’s Note: Why This Was More Than a Meal Promotion

McDonald’s Singapore’s official campaign separates several types of collectibles: meal-linked photocards, merchandise available with meal purchases and a members-only hat offered at selected locations.

That structure helps explain why the hat attracted particular attention. It combined a restricted distribution network with a limited launch allocation, according to local reporting.

The concert timing provides another relevant connection. BIGBANG’s Singapore performances were scheduled just over a week after the merchandise release.

From an editorial perspective, the queues illustrate how interest in an artist can extend into everyday retail spaces. The available reporting documents strong launch-day demand, although it does not provide complete sales figures for the collection.
