CORTIS James releases a self-directed music video for his birthday... Cover of the song Paris, Texas draws attention

CORTIS member James presented a cover music video that he personally planned and produced to celebrate his birthday. On the official CORTIS YouTube channel, James’s video ″[BDAY Project] Paris Texas - Everybody’s Safe Until...″ was released at midnight on the 14th. This music video was completed by adding footage filmed by James himself to the original song by the American hip-hop duo Paris Texas. James released the video to coincide with his birthday, giving fans a special gift. In this project, James took the lead in all aspects of production, including song selection, choreography creation, directing, and editing. The video conveys the theme ″To be reborn, you must fight your past self,″ featuring scenes of James confronting himself, original action choreography, and intense facial expressions. Scenes using a vintage camcorder, standoffs in alleyways, and dynamic camera movements created a short film-like atmosphere. At the end of the video, the subtitle ″October 14″ appears along with the voice saying, ″It’s my birthday,″ announcing his birthday. James participated in planning the video and creating choreography even during the team’s first tour this summer, ″PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN.″ He discussed camera angles, special effects, and shooting routes with the filming team and took charge of editing and color grading. The video credits include the phrase ″Directed and edited by JAMES.″ CORTIS plans to continue birthday creative projects for each member, starting with James. Juhoon will sequentially release content featuring his ideas on January 3, Seonghyun on January 13, Geonho on February 14, and Martin on March 20. Meanwhile, CORTIS’s mini-album 2, ″GREENGREEN,″ released last May, has surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify as of October 12. Based on sales from September 27 to October 3, the period covered by the Circle Chart weekly album chart, total sales exceeded 4.35 million copies. CORTIS is scheduled to perform at the ″2026 Melon Music Awards″ held at Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome on November 14 and 15, and at the ″2026 MAMA Awards″ held at Kyocera Dome Osaka, Japan, on November 20 and 21.
