G-Dragon·48 K-pop artists including BTS open 'D'Festa The Origin' in Yeouido

The exhibition ″D’FESTA THE ORIGIN,″ featuring 48 artists from 9 representative K-pop groups including G-Dragon, BTS, Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together (TXT), aespa, Enhypen, IVE, RIIZE, and CORTIS, will be held from the 23rd of this month until the 30th of next month at the IFC Mall L3 MPX Gallery in Yeouido, Seoul. This exhibition was produced over approximately four months with more than 30 large-scale shooting sets and takes ″Origin″—the dreams and passions K-pop artists first held—as its starting point. It showcases new aspects of the artists through various art forms beyond music and performance, including photography, video, fashion, and fine arts. The exhibition is divided into several sections. ″THE NINEFOLD″ unfolds the personalities of the 9 teams through 18 stories, applying different shooting sets and directions for each group to capture expressions and movements unseen on stage. ″HUES OF BLACK″ focuses on each member’s unique atmosphere and gaze through large black-and-white portraits measuring 8 meters wide and 4 meters high. The highlight, ″KANON NO. 48,″ is a large-scale work completed by all 48 artists, visually documenting contemporary K-pop as the artists walk atop a massive structure. Other creations on display include ″THE SQUEEZE,″ featuring drawings directly made by the members, and ″LETTERS,″ containing handwritten letters and video messages to fans. Programs allowing visitor participation are also available. ″THE ENCOUNTER″ lets visitors listen to artists’ voices or take commemorative photos, and an ″ADMISSION KIT″ consisting of photo tickets, stickers, and leaflets is provided. The organizers of D’FESTA stated, ″’THE ORIGIN’ was carefully crafted over a long period to present the brightest moments of K-pop in new artistic forms,″ adding, ″Especially, ’KANON NO. 48’ will be a valuable scene capturing K-pop on an overwhelming scale.″ Meanwhile, ″D’FESTA THE ORIGIN″ is scheduled to be held sequentially in major cities worldwide, starting with Tokyo in January next year.
