Mamamoo Wheein, tears over longing for her prime... tells Kim Shin-young, "I want to quit"

Wheein recalled her prime days during her time with the group Mamamoo and shared her inner thoughts. Recently, Wheein held a live broadcast through a fan community platform. During the broadcast, she communicated with fans in comfortable attire while doing a mukbang, and mentioned that she often cries, honestly revealing her feelings. Wheein revealed that there are many moments during tours when emotions overwhelm her, saying, ″Things I never even thought about in my early to mid-20s. The time when Mamamoo was at its peak. I often think about going back to that time. Honestly, there were times I really hated it back then. It was so hard. People need rest to appreciate the precious things that come in between, but when you keep pushing yourself, you often miss out on what you could gain.″ She continued, ″There was no leisure. Looking back now, it was tough but also fun. I think I miss it. When we were most active. If I had to go back now, I wonder if I could do it to that extent. When I drink alone, I play old Mamamoo videos. I think that’s my drunken rambling. I end up crying alone while watching them,″ she added. Wheein also mentioned a time when she confided in Kim Shin-young about her struggles, saying, ″At that time, I told Kim Shin-young that I wanted to quit. But Shin-young unnie said, ’Even if you want to quit, there will definitely be a day when you miss it.’ Honestly, I didn’t understand then. She said you will inevitably miss it. After the departure of these two members, Mamamoo has focused on solo activities since finishing their ’Ilneilla’ promotions in 2022. Meanwhile, Mamamoo has reunited after four years and is currently conducting the world tour ’MAMAMOO 2026 WORLD TOUR [4WARD] in KUALA LUMPUR.’ The tour will pass through Tokyo on the 25th and conclude in Taipei on November 28-29.
