The rookie group’s debut single recorded more than 5.36 million weekly streams in Japan, adding an Oricon breakthrough to its Billboard global top-10 entries.
A2O LITE has reached Japan’s streaming top five just two chart appearances into its debut, with “NEON” climbing from No. 48 to No. 5 on Oricon’s weekly streaming ranking. The nine-member girl group’s first single registered 5,367,929 plays during the October 19–25 tracking period, securing its position on the chart dated November 2 and delivering a substantial increase over its opening result.
The jump gives the Lee Soo-man-produced group a measurable early foothold in Japan after its October 13 debut, while the same song is also appearing near the top of Billboard’s global rankings. Together, the results show “NEON” gaining ground across different markets, although the Japanese streaming figures and worldwide chart positions measure distinct forms of activity.

“NEON” initially entered Oricon’s weekly streaming chart at No. 48 on the October 26 ranking, with 2,233,922 plays. Its latest result represents a rise of 43 positions and approximately 3.13 million additional weekly streams, taking the song directly into the top five on its first appearance inside the top 10.
Oricon reported a week-over-week increase of 140.3 percent, meaning the latest weekly total was approximately 2.4 times the previous figure. Across the two reported tracking periods, the song accumulated approximately 7.60 million streams, giving a broader picture of its early listening activity in Japan.
A2O LITE also entered Oricon’s separate ranking of artists by total weekly streams at No. 30. That placement measures activity at the artist level, while the No. 5 result belongs specifically to “NEON,” making them related but separate achievements.
There is an important timing detail behind the increase: Oricon’s first tracking period ran from October 12 to 18, but “NEON” was released on October 13. The opening total therefore covered six calendar days after release, while the latest figure covers the complete seven-day period from October 19 to 25.
The 140.3 percent increase remains the reported comparison between those weekly totals, but it is not a comparison of two identical release windows. Even with that distinction, the move from No. 48 to No. 5 establishes a clear improvement in the song’s position relative to other tracks on the chart.
For a debut single, the result shifts attention from its initial entry to how quickly its audience developed afterward. “NEON” did not simply remain on the ranking in its second appearance; it reached a substantially higher position while its weekly play count expanded.

The Oricon update follows “NEON” entering the Billboard Global 200 at No. 8 on the chart dated October 31. On Global Excl. U.S., the song rose from No. 107 to No. 3, a climb of 104 positions that placed it inside the top five.
Those Billboard results reflect streaming and digital sales across international markets, whereas the Oricon ranking provides a view of listening activity in Japan. The distinction matters because “NEON” has now recorded both a strong Japanese weekly streaming result and high positions on worldwide song charts, without those figures being interchangeable.
The combined picture is of a debut release gaining visibility beyond a single domestic market. Its Japanese performance supplies a specific weekly stream count, while the Billboard placements show how the song ranked against other releases across a much broader geographical field.
A2O LITE belongs to A2O Entertainment, where Lee Soo-man serves as key producer. The group held its debut showcase at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on October 12 before releasing “NEON” at 6 p.m. KST the following day.
The latest chart positions therefore arrive approximately two weeks into the group’s official recording career, giving its first single a prominent role in introducing the act internationally. With no longer-term chart history available yet, the next updates will show whether “NEON” can sustain the scale of listening reached during its first full Oricon tracking week.
Editor’s Note: A2O Entertainment’s official debut announcement describes “NEON” as an introduction to its “Zalpha Pop” identity, combining heavy bass, individual vocal colors, a cappella elements and energetic performance. That description provides background on the release’s musical positioning; the chart results reported here establish its early commercial performance rather than a comparison with the career achievements of earlier artists.
