Model Lee Hyun-yi revealed her experience of having conflicts with her husband Hong Seong-gi over parenting issues. Recently, she shared an incident where their child had stayed abroad for four weeks and arrived home at 4 a.m. after a long journey, and a conflict arose when Lee Hyun-yi planned to go out that day. Hong Seong-gi thought it would be better for the child to rest at home since he was tired, but he admitted that he conveyed his opinion in a tone that was not gentle. Lee Hyun-yi revealed that Hong Seong-gi said, ″If you were a normal mother,″ which hurt her feelings. Hong Seong-gi denied using such an expression at the time, but Lee Hyun-yi explained that the remark upset her. Afterwards, the two showed differences of opinion regarding the issue of apology. When asked why he did not apologize, Lee Hyun-yi questioned whether simply suggesting going out was something to apologize for. Park Seong-jun, a fortune teller who appeared as a guest that day, interpreted that Lee Hyun-yi has a delicate and sensitive side, explaining, ″She has the energy to be hurt by a single word, expression, or glance.″ Lee Hyun-yi agreed with this. Park Seong-jun pointed out that expressions like ″not normal″ or ″if you were normal″ in a marital fight can provoke the other person, and advised that Hong Seong-gi has a strong sense of self-assertion and stubbornness. Meanwhile, Lee Hyun-yi married Hong Seong-gi in 2012 and they have two sons.
