'Liar' Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin, sexual assault report truth battle... results of the lie detector test

In episode 2 of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ″Liar,″ a scene was depicted where Min Junho (Yoo Yeon-seok) and Kang Ji-sun (Seo Hyun-jin) undergo a lie detector test. The two characters presented completely opposing claims about a single memory, continuing their battle over the truth. Cardiothoracic surgeon Min Junho and elementary school librarian Kang Ji-sun developed feelings for each other after their first meeting, but their peaceful daily lives were shattered when Kang Ji-sun reported Min Junho to the police the day after their date. Kang Ji-sun suffered from the shock of ″that night,″ and Min Junho had to spend the night in a detention center. During the police investigation, both maintained opposing positions regarding whether the incident was forced. Due to lack of evidence, the police decided not to indict Min Junho, but the impact of the case extended to both of them and those around them. Min Junho lost a surgical opportunity at the hospital, and Kang Ji-sun struggled to face Min Junho’s son, Min Hyun-soo (Kang Ji-yong), at school. Min Hyun-soo also got into fights with friends at school due to his father’s arrest. Kang Ji-sun’s older sister, Kang Ji-eun (Kim Ji-hyun), also expressed discomfort at having to face Min Junho at the hospital. The turning point of the case began when Kang Ji-sun suspected drug use after seeing a clean wine glass from ″that night.″ During this process, it was revealed that Min Junho’s wife had committed suicide due to a drug overdose. Later, at the suggestion of police officer Lee Hwa-young (Ok Ja-yeon), Min Junho and Kang Ji-sun underwent a lie detector test. Both answered the questions during the investigation, but it remained difficult to determine who was lying. As a result of the investigation, Lee Hwa-young told Kang Ji-sun, ″Between you and Min Junho, you are the one who lied.″ Furthermore, it was revealed that Kang Ji-sun had been involved in a similar incident in the past, raising further doubts about the truth. The drama delicately portrayed the duality of the two main characters, creating tension for viewers. Meanwhile, episode 1 of ″Liar″ recorded a nationwide household rating of 1.9% (according to Nielsen Korea). ″Liar″ airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
