BTS, 14 sold-out performances in 5 South American cities...830,000 attendees

BTS’s ’BTS WORLD TOUR ’ARIRANG’’ tour held in five South American cities sold out all 14 performances, attracting a total audience of 853,000. The tour began in Bogotá, Colombia, and continued to Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil. The performances featured songs from the fifth studio album ’Arirang’ along with hit tracks such as ’FAKE LOVE,’ ’Not Today,’ ’MIC Drop,’ ’FIRE,’ ’IDOL,’ ’Butter,’ and ’Dynamite.’ Each show included different setlists and interactions with fans in the local language. The stage design incorporated elements inspired by traditional Korean pavilions, Gyeongbokgung Palace’s Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, and the Taegeukgi flag, emphasizing Korean aesthetics. The tour left significant marks in each city. It was the first full-group performance in Colombia and Argentina, the first visit to Peru since debut, the first in Chile in nine years, and the first in Brazil in seven years, receiving enthusiastic responses from local fans. The economic impact was also notable. In Buenos Aires, Argentina, 96% of the audience came from outside the city, with over 130,000 first-time visitors recorded. More than 48,000 people stayed for at least one day, and approximately 53 billion Argentine pesos (about 46 billion Korean won) were spent on accommodations, food, and beverages. Flight bookings to Bogotá, Colombia increased by 46.6% compared to the same period last year, and accommodation searches in Santiago, Chile rose by about 200%. In Lima, Peru, ride-hailing requests on the first day of the concert were 15 times higher than usual, peaking at 48 times after the show. Upon concluding the South American tour, BTS said, ″South America was one of the most anticipated stops because we don’t get to meet here often. I was really excited even before coming, and as expected, you are amazing. The emotions I received this time were so great that I felt I had to come back quickly to return the favor. One of the happiest memories of my life was made here. I will cherish this memory and return home.″ BTS ended the South American schedule with the São Paulo Morumbi Stadium concert and will continue the tour starting with the Kaohsiung performance on the 19th, followed by Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Melbourne, and Sydney.
