SECHSKIES Ko Ji-yong, Jang Su-won, Lee Jae-jin to hold year-end dinner show... Clarify controversy over high prices

A special year-end dinner show featuring Ko Ji-yong, Jang Su-won, and Lee Jae-jin titled ″THE TREE in INSPIRE - The Untold Story of Sechskies″ is scheduled to be held on December 15 and 16 at the Inspire Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon. This event is planned as a special occasion combining accommodation and meals at a 5-star resort, resort tours, music performances, and talk shows. After the announcement of the event, controversy arose over the high ticket prices of 454,000 KRW, 568,400 KRW, and 898,400 KRW that appeared on the promotional image. In response, the event organizer Mountain Movement Story clarified on the 2nd, stating, ″These amounts are not the prices for concert tickets but examples of Inspire Hotel room rates,″ adding, ″The original promotional image also separately indicated the phrase ’INSPIRE HOTEL ROOM PRICE EXAMPLE’.″ The organizers emphasized that hotel room prices and event ticket prices should be clearly distinguished and pledged to correct the misinformation. They also announced that detailed pricing and information about the event will be provided through the official poster on the 13th. This dinner show is drawing attention as Ko Ji-yong will officially participate in an event alongside Jang Su-won and Lee Jae-jin ahead of SECHSKIES’s 30th anniversary debut. Ko Ji-yong left the entertainment industry to become a businessman after SECHSKIES disbanded in 2000. Although he made a surprise appearance on MBC’s ″Infinite Challenge″ during the ″Toto Ga 2″ stage in 2016, he did not officially resume activities. Following Kang Sung-hoon’s departure, SECHSKIES reorganized into a four-member group consisting of Eun Ji-won, Lee Jae-jin, Kim Jae-duk, and Jang Su-won, and group activities have been sparse since the release of the mini-album ″ALL FOR YOU″ in 2020. Eun Ji-won and Kim Jae-duk are not participating in this event, so it is far from a full reunion. Meanwhile, the SECHSKIES fan union issued an official statement on the 2nd opposing Ko Ji-yong’s participation in the event. The fan union claimed that Ko Ji-yong used the SECHSKIES brand and fandom for personal gain and commercial promotion after ceasing team activities and demanded the cessation of all activities using the team’s name. The fandom had previously requested Ko Ji-yong’s removal from the SECHSKIES profile in 2018. Currently, Ko Ji-yong is excluded from the SECHSKIES member profiles on portal sites. Ko Ji-yong married Heo Yang-im in 2013 and has a son named Seung-jae, but they divorced by mutual agreement in 2024. After the divorce, Heo Yang-im holds custody and parental rights of their son Seung-jae.
