BTS 'Arirang', the first K-pop platinum certification in Italy

BTS received platinum certification from the Italian Music Industry Association (FIMI) for their fifth studio album ’Arirang’ (ARIRANG), becoming the first K-pop artist to achieve this. This certification is awarded to albums that have reached a cumulative total of 50,000 units, combining physical album sales, digital downloads, and streaming figures. ’Arirang’ earned platinum about six months after receiving gold certification in April. BTS had previously received gold certification in Italy for albums such as ’LOVE YOURSELF 結 Answer’, ’MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA’, ’MAP OF THE SOUL : 7’, ’BE’, and ’Proof’. This album has also maintained long-term popularity on the US Billboard charts. After debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 upon its release in March, it ranked 57th on the chart dated November 7, marking 32 consecutive weeks on the chart. It reached number 25 on the Top Album Sales chart. The title track ’SWIM’ re-entered the Global 200 at number 33, the Global (excluding US) chart at number 13, and the Adult Contemporary chart at number 29. BTS concluded their South America tour last month with a performance in São Paulo, Brazil. Starting in Bogotá, Colombia, they held 14 concerts across five cities, attracting a total audience of 853,000. They will resume their world tour on the 19th in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and continue with performances in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Jakarta in December.
