MAXHUB and Cambodia's MoEYS Sign MoU for Smart Classroom Pilot

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MAXHUB today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Kingdom of Cambodia (MoEYS) to support a smart classroom pilot in Cambodia. The collaboration will begin at Boeung Trabek High School (New Generation School) in Phnom Penh, where MAXHUB will donate one complete Smart Classroom Solution at no cost to the school.

Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on Smart Classroom Testing Project between Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and SHIZHEN (HK) LIMITED.

The MoU was signed during a ceremony at the school by H.E. Dr. Om Romny, Secretary of State, on behalf of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, and Mr. Aaron Xiao, General Manager of MAXHUB. The agreement creates a framework for the parties to introduce, pilot and assess smart classroom solutions in Cambodian schools, beginning with the Boeung Trabek High School pilot.

The pilot is intended to support the use of smart classroom technology in day-to-day teaching and learning, while providing a school-based setting in which the solution can be assessed. MoEYS will lead the evaluation of the pilot's implementation and results.

MAXHUB will support delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of the solution. Training for the school's teachers and IT personnel will be provided through on-site and online sessions. The classroom will also receive three years of on-site warranty service in Cambodia, delivered by MAXHUB or its authorised local partner, together with the software licences needed to operate the solution, including a Khmer-language interface where available. The pilot takes place amid Cambodia's wider focus on digital education. MoEYS' Education Strategic Plan 2024–2028 identifies advancing digital education as a priority, including strengthening teachers' ability to use digital tools, equipping learning spaces with digital education facilities and expanding connectivity to schools. In 2025, the Ministry also launched implementation of its Digital Education Strategy for Schools.

Following the pilot assessment, the parties may explore further cooperation with other schools identified by MoEYS. "We are honoured to work with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in support of digital education in Cambodia," said Aaron Xiao, General Manager of MAXHUB. "Through this pilot at Boeung Trabek High School, we look forward to learning together with the school and the Ministry about how smart classroom technology can support teaching and learning."
