'Doctor X', eight doctors join forces to successfully operate on a pediatric cancer patient... Magnolia Society faces disciplinary action

In episode 10 of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama ″Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia,″ eight medical professionals joined forces to successfully perform an extremely complex surgery on an 8-year-old pediatric cancer patient. The medical team, including Kye Soo-jung (Kim Ji-won), Jang Hee-sook (Lee Jung-eun), Boo Seung-kwon (Son Hyun-joo), Park Tae-kyung (Kim WooSeok), Jo Won-jin (Lee Jin-hee), Do Yoon-sik (Kim Young-min), Bae Heung-gon (Lee Sung-wook), and Kim Sung-jin (Heo Jun-seok), conducted a surgery in which six organs were removed from the body, tumors were excised, and the organs were re-implanted. During the surgery, the Magnolia Society demanded the operation be stopped, creating a crisis. However, Boo Seung-kwon declared, ″By the director’s authority, this surgery will proceed to the end,″ and Kye Soo-jung also expressed her determination, saying, ″I will definitely make sure Hyun-ah grows up.″ Despite pressure from the Magnolia Society, the medical team united to continue the surgery, and even Emergency Medicine Professor Kim Sung-jin joined, making a total of eight people working together to save the patient’s life. Even after the surgery’s success, conflicts remained. The Magnolia Society raised issues about the surgery’s risks, IRB approval, and the participation of external medical staff, disciplining the medical team at Guseo University Hospital and notifying Kye Soo-jung of contract termination. In response, Lee Hyun-ah’s mother (Moon Ye-won) announced her intention to sue the hospital, the foundation, and all the medical staff involved in the surgery, a move coordinated in advance with Jang Hee-sook. Lee Hyun-ah’s mother mentioned that her daughter was transferred to a branch hospital because there were no further treatment options at the main hospital, holding the hospital and foundation accountable. Ultimately, the Magnolia Society postponed the disciplinary actions. At the end of the broadcast, Kim Seung-hyo (Jeon Guk-hwan), founder of the medical volunteer group ″White Wings,″ appeared. Kim Seung-hyo visited Guseo University Hospital for a heart transplant surgery, appointing Jo Won-jin as his guardian and Kye Soo-jung as the surgeon. Later, a scene aired showing Park Tae-kyung attempting to suffocate the sleeping Kim Seung-hyo with a pillow, and Jo Won-jin did not stop him. Kye Soo-jung arrived just in time to intervene against Park Tae-kyung, and when Kim Seung-hyo opened his eyes, he greeted Kye Soo-jung, saying, ″Long time no see, Doctor X,″ ending episode 10. Meanwhile, episode 10, which aired on the 7th, recorded nationwide and metropolitan area ratings of 17.7% (according to Nielsen Korea). This was a 2.4 percentage point increase from the previous episode, ranking first in its time slot and maintaining the number one spot in ratings across all channels for five consecutive weeks. The 2049 demographic rating peaked at 8% and averaged 7.2%. ″Doctor X″ airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
