Oh My Girl’s Mimi shared her excitement for the growing popularity of Korean bakery culture as MBN prepares to launch its new survival program ‘Bake Your Dream’ (천하제빵).

On January 30, Mimi attended the production presentation for the upcoming series at Stanford Hotel Korea in Seoul, where she spoke about her anticipation for the show and her personal affection for bread. During the event, Mimi described herself as a devoted bread enthusiast and expressed genuine happiness about seeing a program dedicated to bakers and pastry chefs.
“As someone who truly loves bread, I’m happy and proud that Bake Your Dream is finally being shared with the public,” she said. “I really feel like the era of bread has arrived.” Her comments drew lighthearted laughter as she encouraged fellow bread lovers to embrace the trend and enjoy the moment.

Mimi emphasized that the show goes beyond food competition, highlighting the effort, craftsmanship, and emotional investment that go into baking. “I hope viewers will focus on the process what happens while bread is being made, and how much sincerity and care each pâtissier puts into their work,” she said. “I think there’s a lot people can relate to and appreciate.”
Bake Your Dream is Korea’s first large scale bakery survival program, bringing together 72 bakers and pastry chefs from across Korea and around the world. Contestants range from veteran masters and internationally recognized pâtissiers to lesser known bakers with original recipes. The show aims to spotlight K-bakery culture as a global trend, positioning bread not just as food, but as a creative and cultural expression.
Bake Your Dream premieres on February 1 at 9:40 p.m. KST on MBN. Mimi appears on the judging panel alongside Lee Da-hee, Noh Hee-young, Lee Seok-won, and Kwon Sung-joon, with producer Yoon Se-young leading the project.
