Actor Kim Seon-ho may be returning to the small screen through a highly anticipated new project helmed by acclaimed director Kim Jee-woon. His agency has confirmed that he is currently reviewing an offer to star in the director’s upcoming drama, tentatively titled UNFRIEND.
On March 16, Kim Seon-ho’s agency Salt Entertainment stated that the actor has received a casting proposal for the new series and is “positively considering” the role.

UNFRIEND is described as a mystery-driven series centered on a woman who refuses to believe that her younger sibling’s death was the result of suicide. As she begins investigating the truth behind the incident, she crosses paths with a mysterious man, and the story unfolds through their tense and emotional encounters.
The project brings together an impressive creative lineup. The series is directed by Kim Jee-woon, known for films such as I Saw the Devil, The Age of Shadows, Illang, and Cobweb. He is joined by Park Bo-ram, who previously directed the SBS drama Through the Darkness. Production will be handled by Yong Film.

The drama is planned as a six-episode series and is set to be released on an OTT platform, reflecting the industry’s growing focus on concise, high-impact storytelling aimed at global viewers.
While Kim Seon-ho’s role details have not yet been disclosed, his potential involvement has already drawn attention due to the project’s genre and the reputation of its directing team.
Prior to UNFRIEND, Kim Seon-ho had been in talks to make his drama comeback through another project. However, after discussions with the production company, both sides agreed not to proceed due to internal production delays and unresolved scheduling issues.
The decision was reportedly mutual, allowing the actor to focus on other opportunities without complications.
At present, Kim Seon-ho is actively filming the movie The Tyrant, directed by Park Hoon-jung. His continued work in film has kept him visible while fans await news of his return to television.
If confirmed, UNFRIEND would mark Kim Seon ho’s official drama comeback and a notable collaboration with one of Korea’s most respected directors. As discussions continue, attention remains high on whether the actor will take on this dark and emotionally charged role.
