YG Entertainment confirmed that BLACKPINK will present the “NMK X BLACKPINK” project from February 26 to March 8, marking the first official large-scale partnership between the National Museum of Korea and a K-pop artist. Global streaming platform Spotify joins as an official partner.

A Pink Illumination at the Nation’s Landmark

During the event period, the exterior of the National Museum of Korea will be illuminated in symbolic pink lighting representing both BLACKPINK and the special project. The large-scale lighting installation is expected to transform the museum into a striking cultural landmark at night.

But the collaboration goes beyond visuals.

BLACKPINK as Cultural Guides

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the members will participate as audio docents, introducing eight representative national treasures and artifacts. Through their voices, visitors will be guided through key pieces of Korean heritage, merging contemporary global pop culture with centuries-old history.

This unique crossover positions BLACKPINK not only as global artists, but also as ambassadors bridging modern entertainment and traditional culture.

‘DEADLINE’ Listening Session Inside the Museum

At the museum’s main lobby space, “The Path of History,” a special listening session for BLACKPINK’s upcoming third mini album ‘DEADLINE’ will be held near the iconic Gwanggaeto Stele replica.

Select sessions will be exclusively available to Spotify Premium users.
Pre-release listening reservations open via Naver Booking on February 19 at 8 p.m. KST, with limited early access prior to the album’s official release. After the album drops on February 27 at 2 p.m. KST, the session will be open to all visitors during museum operating hours.

Music Meets Cultural Legacy

Industry observers describe the collaboration as a groundbreaking attempt to dissolve boundaries between K-pop and cultural institutions. As the first K-pop group to officially collaborate with the National Museum of Korea on this scale, BLACKPINK continues to redefine what global pop influence can look like.

BLACKPINK’s third mini album ‘DEADLINE’ will be released on February 27 at 2 p.m. KST. The album includes title track “GO,” pre-release single “JUMP,” and additional tracks “Me and My” and “Champion.”

With heritage, history, and global fandom converging, the museum is about to turn pink and K-pop history is being written once again.
