“I Wanted to Show a Better Side”

When asked about portraying a character closer to her own age, Jisoo reflected on her approach to the role. “As I take on more diverse characters, I wanted to show a better version of myself this time,” she said. “I had many conversations with the director to find a performance style that felt right for me.”

She added, “I hope viewers will feel that I met a character that truly fits me.” Jisoo plays Mirae, a webtoon producer exhausted by real life who turns to a virtual dating simulation service, where she can ‘subscribe’ to different boyfriends each month.

Director Praises Her Effort

Director Kim Jung-sik emphasized the actress’s dedication.

“She worked extremely hard,” he said. “She handled multiple settings and character dynamics well. Viewers will see the character Mirae grow throughout the drama and at the same time, they’ll see Jisoo grow as an actress.”

He added, “You could say that her effort surpassed natural talent this time.”

A Star-Studded Virtual Romance

‘Boyfriend On Demand’ follows Mirae’s journey through a subscription-based virtual dating world, blending romance and fantasy elements.

The series features Seo In-guk as Gyeongnam, alongside a lineup of actors portraying various virtual boyfriends, including Seo Kang-joon, Lee Soo-hyuk, Ong Seong-wu, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Hyun-wook, Kim Young-dae, Jay Park, and Lee Sang.

The drama is set to premiere globally on Netflix on March 6.
