Actress and singer Nana has honestly spoken about the personal story behind her now-removed tattoos, revealing that they were connected to a difficult period in her life and if they had any special meanings.
During a recent appearance on a YouTube talk show, Nana shared why she originally covered her body in tattoos and why she ultimately decided to remove them and if they actually had a meaning.

On March 9, a new episode of the YouTube show Zzanhyung Shin Dong-yeob (짠한형 신동엽) was released under the title “Is This Real? Ju Jihoon, Ha Jiwon, Nana.”
The episode featured Nana alongside actors Ju Ji-hoon and Ha Ji-won, where the trio discussed various personal stories.
During the conversation, Nana addressed the tattoos that once covered much of her body which is a topic that has drawn attention from fans in recent years and many always asked about the reason behind it.
She revealed that removing the tattoos was actually more painful than getting them in the first place.
“It hurts more when you remove them,” Nana said. “But laser technology has become so advanced these days that they disappeared cleanly without leaving scars.”
Nana also shared that the tattoos did not hold any special symbolic meaning.
Instead, she explained that they were something she turned to during a particularly challenging time in her life.
“I got those tattoos during a difficult period,” she admitted. “I didn’t attach any special meaning to them. I think getting them was a way for me to release my emotions.”
She described the physical pain of tattooing as something that helped her temporarily focus on something other than negative feelings.
“At the time, concentrating on that pain helped me endure those emotions.”

Although she removed most of the tattoos, Nana revealed that one meaningful piece still remains.
The actress said she kept a small tattoo on her ankle that reads “1968,” the birth year of her mother.
For Nana, that tattoo holds a deeply personal significance compared to the others she once had.
Looking back on the experience, Nana offered a piece of advice to fans who may be thinking about getting tattoos.
“Removing tattoos hurts much more than getting them,” she said. “So I hope people think carefully before deciding.”
Her honest reflections have resonated with fans, many of whom praised her openness about the emotional journey behind the tattoos and their removal.
