Sunmi makes a comeback with 'Forever July'... Participates in lyrics, composition, and choreography herself

Singer Sunmi recently appeared on SBS PowerFM’s ’Escape at 2PM Cultwo Show’ and talked about her new digital single ’Forever July’ and her 2018 Waterbomb performance. Sunmi revealed that she personally participated not only in writing and composing ’Forever July,’ released on July 15, but also in choreographing the dance. She explained, ″I wrote the song and directed the choreography. I did everything. Of course, many people helped me along the way.″ Regarding her collaboration with Jeokjae, she said, ″Jeokjae is an artist I love. He’s in the same company as me. We always talked about working together, and finally, we did this time.″ The new song was started in March during spring, and Sunmi said, ″It’s not a bright, exciting, or refreshing song, but it’s moist. It’s really fun and good. Please listen to it. Everyone, please stream it. Please help me.″ She also expressed her affection, saying, ″This is my favorite song. It was a song I really wanted to try, and I was happy while making it. Actually, when I write songs, I don’t listen to them much afterward because I hear them too much during production. But this song is one I want to keep listening to. It’s not a totally exciting dance song, but it’s exciting.″ The broadcast also included a discussion about her 2018 Waterbomb performance. When DJ Kim Taekyoon asked, ″You’re part of the first generation of Waterbomb. I’ve never been there. What’s it like?″ Sunmi replied, ″I thought Waterbomb was a festival where you dress up pretty and stylishly, but it’s not like that. You come comfortably. Everyone comes comfortably and shoots water guns at strangers, so that’s really fun. I think people feel like it’s hard to go.″ She added, ″You can come very freely and comfortably.″ Hwang Chi-yeul mentioned that the 2018 Waterbomb stage video recorded 15 million views. About the outfit Sunmi wore at the time, she explained, ″It was a swimsuit, but it said not to wear it while swimming. I bought it because it was a swimsuit, but they said not to wear it while swimming.″ Regarding the high number of views, she said, ″It wasn’t shocking or anything, but since the youngest member of the group Wonder Girls had grown into a respectable adult and showed a bold image, I think people were surprised to see that.″ She added, ″It might also be because of the man next to me. Actually, in the comments, both women and men said it was a happy video. That’s probably why it reached 15 million views.″
