Jeon So-young wins Best New Actress at the Blue Dragon Series Awards... "I will work hard from now on"

The 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards were held on the afternoon of July 31 at Paradise City in Incheon. The ceremony was hosted by Jun Hyun-moo and Yoona. In the Best New Actress category, Jeon So-young from Netflix’s ″Gireugo″ won the award. In her acceptance speech, Jeon So-young said, ″I really didn’t expect to receive an award. I felt honored just to be in the same place with respected seniors, and I am sincerely grateful to receive this award as well. Thank you to the director and writer of ’Gireugo,’ and to the seniors and family at BH Entertainment.″ She continued, ″Thank you to the staff who worked on ’Gireugo,’ and Geon-woo. I’m very thankful. Thanks also to the five members of Seorin High. I will work hard and do my best.″ The nominees for Best New Actress that day included Kim Min from ″Pine: Country Bumpkins,″ Bang Hyo-rin from ″Emma,″ Seo Ji-hye from ″Scarecrow,″ Arin from ″S-Line,″ and Jeon So-young from ″Gireugo.″ Baek Seon-ho, who played Kim Geon-woo in ″Gireugo,″ attended the ceremony wearing a military uniform and smiled. The Best New Actor award went to Kim Jae-won from TVING’s ″Yumi’s Cells Season 3.″ In his acceptance speech, Kim Jae-won expressed gratitude to the production company, staff, and related personnel, and greeted his co-star Kim Go-eun, saying, ″Go-eun noona, who I loved, respected, and liked more than anyone else while filming. I learned a lot and relied on you because you are a senior.″ He also thanked his family, saying, ″My maternal grandmother is very ill, but I hope she gains strength seeing me receive this award.″ Kim Jae-won added, ″I don’t think receiving this award means I am perfect. Tomorrow, I might forget my lines or stumble, but I will not be afraid and will continue to strive to become a good actor.″
