Shin Dong-yup revealed the educational philosophy he emphasizes to his family. In a video released on the YouTube channel ’Sung Si-kyung’s Eat It’ on the 31st of last month, Shin Dong-yup shared family stories while dining at a Chinese restaurant with Sung Si-kyung. Shin Dong-yup said there is something he often tells his son and daughter: ″I don’t touch or nag them, but I tell them, ’At least be good at greeting people.’″ He added, ″When the security guard at our villa greets us warmly, I tell them to say ’Hello,’ and I tell them to greet everyone, including family members.″ Regarding the importance of greetings, Shin Dong-yup said, ″As more and more people stop greeting others, being good at greeting will become rare and valuable when you get older.″ He continued, ″If you greet well, when there is a similar vibe, people tend to be drawn to you and want to work with you at crucial moments.″ Meanwhile, Shin Dong-yup married Sun Hye-yoon, a former MBC Entertainment PD, in 2006, and they have one son and one daughter. Their daughter, Shin Ji-hyo, majored in ballet at Sunhwa Arts High School and, after attending Sunhwa Arts Middle and High School, entered the College of Physical Education at Seoul National University this year.
