BTS member V has shared a small but meaningful souvenir from one of the group’s biggest international stages: the credential he used during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

On August 5, V uploaded a collection of recent photographs to social media. Among the workout pictures and relaxed everyday moments was an event pass containing a simple, straight-on portrait of the singer. Korean media identified it as his credential from BTS’s appearance at the World Cup final halftime show.

With light brown hair falling across his forehead and a casual hoodie replacing his usual stage styling, V looked more like a student having an identification photo taken than a global performer preparing to appear before a stadium audience.

A different side of V’s World Cup appearance

V accompanied the photographs with the playful Korean caption, “It’s pretty quiet, isn’t it? You can cry your heart out. Sob, sob.” He did not explain whether the message was connected to the credential or the other images in the post.

The understated portrait offered a sharp contrast to the carefully produced images normally associated with BTS’s World Cup performance. There was no elaborate costume, dramatic lighting or editorial pose. Instead, the image was created for the most practical of reasons: allowing V to access the event as a performer.

BTS performed “Dynamite,” bringing one of the group’s most internationally recognized songs to the football tournament’s closing match. The lineup also featured Madonna, Shakira with Burna Boy, Justin Bieber, Gustavo Dudamel and other performers in a production organized with Global Citizen. Global Citizen connected the program to its education fundraising initiative.

The performance took place during the final between Spain and Argentina, which Spain won 1-0 after extra time. The scale of the broadcast placed BTS alongside major international pop artists while giving K-pop a prominent role in the tournament’s first experiment with a Super Bowl-style final show.
