BTS 'SWIM' enters Billboard Hot 100 for 20 consecutive weeks... ties record with 'Butter'

The title track ″SWIM″ from BTS’s fifth full-length album ″Arirang″ has maintained its position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 20 consecutive weeks, continuing its long-term success. In the Billboard chart released on August 15, ″SWIM″ ranked 91st on the Hot 100. The song first entered the chart at number one on the April 4 issue and has remained on the chart for 20 consecutive weeks. This ties ″SWIM″ with the 20-week Hot 100 chart record of ″Butter,″ released in 2021. BTS’s dominance continued on the global song charts as well. ″SWIM″ ranked 4th on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart and 12th on the Global 200 chart. Notably, it has been in the top 10 on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart for 20 consecutive weeks. Additionally, ″NORMAL″ ranked 24th and 49th on the two charts respectively, regaining presence on the Billboard charts since the release of its music video and Korean version last month on the 17th. On the radio chart Pop Airplay, it reached number 40. Among the tracks on ″Arirang,″ six songs—″SWIM,″ ″NORMAL,″ ″Body to Body,″ ″2.0,″ ″Hooligan,″ and ″Aliens″—entered the Global (excluding U.S.) chart. Furthermore, the 2020 release ″Dynamite″ appeared on the same chart for three consecutive weeks following its halftime show performance at the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup final in July. Success continued on the album charts as well. The fifth full-length album ″Arirang″ rose one spot from 15th to 14th on the Billboard 200 last week. The album previously topped the Billboard 200 for three consecutive weeks, and its total 13 weeks in the top 10 is the longest for any Korean artist’s album. This week, it ranked 7th on the Top Album Sales chart, 25th on the Top Streaming Albums chart, and 11th on the Vinyl Albums chart. Meanwhile, the title track ″I NEED U″ from BTS’s third mini-album ″Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa pt.1″ surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify as of the 8th. This song earned BTS their first win on a terrestrial music broadcast and blends lyrical Eastern sensibility with rough hip-hop sounds.
