BTS Jimin, Gift and Ball Kiss to Olivia, a Child with Incurable Disease on World Tour, Touching Fan Service

BTS member Jimin gave a special fan service to a young fan suffering from a rare disease during the world tour concert held in Arlington, Texas, USA. On the 15th (local time), during the ’BTS WORLD TOUR ’ARIRANG’’ concert, Jimin went to Olivia, a child cancer patient in the audience, handed her a keyring in person, warmly hugged her, and kissed her on the cheek. Olivia expressed her joy by shouting, ″I got a kiss,″ referring to the kiss she received from Jimin. This scene was released along with footage from the venue, and the child support organizations Heroes for Children and Make-A-Wish Foundation expressed their gratitude through social media. The organizations stated, ″Olivia is still overwhelmed by the emotion of that moment,″ and ″BTS gave her the sweetest memory she will never forget.″ Olivia’s family also said, ″We cannot express how much this artist’s actions toward a young girl resonated with the child and the family.″ On the day of the concert, Jimin wore a costume inspired by the red and blue colors reminiscent of the Taegeuk symbol and the Geon, Gon, Gam, Ri trigrams to commemorate Liberation Day. Venue staff posted photos of Jimin on social media with Taegeuk flag emojis, explaining that the styling was intended to celebrate Liberation Day. Jimin also wore a hat with a Taegeuk patch during a U.S. schedule last year. BTS continues to achieve remarkable success in the global music market with their fifth full-length album, ARIRANG. The album has charted on the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100 for 21 consecutive weeks, and according to a survey by global music data company Luminate targeting U.S. music consumers in the second quarter of this year, the group recorded 42% local awareness and 46% favorability. These figures far exceed the overall artist average awareness (24%) and the K-pop artist average (11%), showing that more than half of music consumers aged 18-34 recognize BTS. Additionally, of the 516,000 physical copies sold in the first week of the U.S. release, about 40%, or approximately 208,000 copies, were shipped in vinyl (LP) format, marking the highest figure in the ″group″ category since Luminate began tracking in 1991. As of the 16th week since release, the album has surpassed 5.7 billion cumulative streams, with a total of 8.7 billion streams for all tracks.
