Actor Lee Soo-hyuk has withdrawn from the drama ″Men of the Harem″ due to scheduling conflicts. A representative from Studio Dragon announced on the 19th that Lee Soo-hyuk withdrew due to scheduling issues. On the same day, Lee Soo-hyuk’s agency, Saram Entertainment, also stated, ″Lee Soo-hyuk has withdrawn from ’Men of the Harem’ due to scheduling conflicts.″ Regarding whether Lee Soo-hyuk actually participated in filming, the agency said, ″It is a situation where we cannot provide specific details.″ Lee Soo-hyuk was considered for the role last year, and after deciding to appear, he reportedly began some filming but ultimately decided to withdraw midway. After Lee Soo-hyuk’s withdrawal, Lee Jong-won was confirmed to take on the role. Lee Jong-won appears as one of the concubines of the main character Latil (Suzy) in the drama. Studio Dragon initially stated that Lee Jong-won’s appearance was ″under discussion,″ but subsequent reports confirmed his casting. ″Men of the Harem″ is based on a Naver web novel by writer Alphatart and is a palace romance fantasy about Empress Latil of the Tarium Empire, who brings in male concubines to protect her position as emperor. Suzy was cast as the lead character Latil, with Shin Seung-ho, Dex, Kim Dan, and Yoo Jung-hoo also starring. The drama is directed by Lee Eung-bok and written by Hwang Jin-young. Produced by Studio Dragon, the drama is scheduled for release on Netflix next year. Meanwhile, Lee Soo-hyuk has completed filming for the Netflix dramas ″Grand Galaxy Hotel″ and ″Dealer,″ which are set to be released soon.
