Catz Eye ranks No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 'WILD'... Fourth female group to achieve this record in just 2 years since debut

KATSEYE’s third mini-album, ″WILD,″ has reached number one on the Billboard 200, the main album chart in the United States. This marks KATSEYE’s first time topping the chart since their debut two years ago, and they have become the fourth female group to achieve a number one on the Billboard 200 since 2020, following Black Pink, NewJeans, and TWICE. According to Billboard, ″WILD″ recorded 170,000 units in its first week. Of these, album sales accounted for 145,000 copies, streaming equivalent albums (SEA) were 24,500 units, and track equivalent albums (TEA) were 500 units. This is the highest first-week figure ever recorded by a female group since the Billboard 200 introduced the album unit calculation method in December 2015. The Billboard 200 ranks albums by combining physical album sales, SEA (streaming counts converted to album sales), and TEA (digital track downloads converted to album sales). In this ranking, KATSEYE secured the top spot after competing with Stray Kids’ ″THIS & THAT,″ which was number one the previous week, and Phoebe Bridgers’ ″Lost Weekend,″ among others. The album includes the title track ″Hootie Frutti″ along with various other songs, with contributions from renowned producers such as HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, pop star Ed Sheeran, Omer Fedi, and Blake Slatkin. KATSEYE was formed through the survival program ″The Debut: Dream Academy,″ a joint project between HYBE and Geffen Records under Universal Music, and debuted in the United States in 2024. Ahead of the release of ″WILD,″ the pre-release tracks ″Pinky Up″ and ″Animal″ reached 28th and 24th on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively. Additionally, KATSEYE has released numerous songs including ″Gnarly,″ ″Gabriela,″ and ″Internet Girl,″ achieving success on major charts in the US, UK, and other countries. KATSEYE won three awards at the 2026 American Music Awards, including ″New Artist of the Year,″ and were nominated in two categories at the 68th Grammy Awards. As of the 24th, their monthly listeners on Spotify totaled 38,281,654. Starting September 1, they will embark on their world tour, ″THE WILDWORLD TOUR,″ beginning in Dublin, Ireland, and visiting major cities across Europe and North America.
