Woo Seo-yoon, daughter of Woo Ji-won, was selected as the winner at the 70th Miss Korea pageant. On the 22nd, Woo Seo-yoon earned the honor of being crowned at the final stage held at the COEX Auditorium in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. She advanced to the finals after being chosen as a runner-up in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon regional competitions. Born in 2003, Woo Seo-yoon is majoring in Fine Arts at Tufts University in the United States. Meanwhile, Jeon Su-wan, daughter of former basketball player Jeon Hee-chul, also advanced to the finals of this Miss Korea competition but did not place in the final rankings. Jeon Su-wan appeared on My Child’s Romance Season 1 and became the final couple with actor Lee Jong-hyuk’s son, Lee Tak-soo. The Japanese Hallyu-specialized media outlet Wow Korea also reported on Woo Seo-yoon’s winning the Miss Korea title. The outlet explained that in Korea’s Miss Korea, the top winners are classified as Jin, Seon, and Mi, and noted that Woo Seo-yoon is well known as the daughter of Woo Ji-won, a basketball star who represented the 1990s.
