John Park captivates 7,000 audience members in New York: "K-pop must grow alongside indie and singer-songwriters"

John Park shared his thoughts on the sustainability and diversity of the K-pop industry. John Park recently took the stage at the ″K-Music Night″ event held at the New York Korea Center in Manhattan, New York. The event was co-hosted by the Korean Cultural Center New York and the Korea Creative Content Agency and lasted for four days. Performers including John Park, Yozoh, Oksang Dalbit, and Gina met with New York citizens. Although the concert was held in a small theater with about 190 seats, approximately 7,000 local audience members gathered, and admission was conducted by lottery. John Park performed his signature songs such as ″Falling,″ ″VISTA,″ and ″DND″ with a full band live, receiving enthusiastic cheers from the audience. Originally from Chicago, John Park naturally communicated with the audience in English and said, ″I dreamed in English my whole life, but now I dream in Korean, and Korean comes out more intuitively.″ In an interview immediately after the performance, John Park stated that thanks to K-pop idol groups paving the way on the global stage, he was able to share his music here as well. He emphasized that for Korean music to thrive in the global market, indie artists and singer-songwriters with their own unique colors must also step onto the world stage together.
