Jennie releases 'Fallen Angel' EP... includes title track and 3 other songs

Jennie of Black Pink released the digital EP ’Fallen Angel’ on the 28th at 1 PM through various music streaming platforms. This EP includes a total of three tracks: the title song ’FALLEN ANGEL,’ ’HEAVEN,’ and ’Less than a Lover,’ which was pre-released last July. The title track ’FALLEN ANGEL’ is an acoustic pop genre centered around guitar melodies, featuring simplified instrumentation and Jennie’s honest vocals. The song conveys comfort to those wandering in search of a sanctuary. Another track, ’HEAVEN,’ expresses a story of a relationship where both parties hurt each other but cannot let go, through rough and dreamy guitar sounds and vocals. ’Less than a Lover’ ranked number one on Apple Music’s ’Today’s TOP 100: South Korea’ chart and the iTunes ’Top Songs’ charts in 27 countries and regions, and topped the YouTube music video trending worldwide. It also received Gold certification on China’s QQ Music and held the number one spot for two consecutive weeks on Mnet’s ’M Countdown.’ The ’FALLEN ANGEL’ music video, released on the official YouTube channel on the same day, highlights Jennie’s inner self hidden behind the stage’s glamour. The video sensually depicts an angel falling from the sky, wearing a pure white dress and performing wire action. It also captures Jennie’s journey of discovering a new identity and feeling freedom. At the end of the music video, there is a scene where Jennie appears to gently close the eyes of the viewers. Following the digital EP, Jennie plans to release a physical EP as well. The physical EP ’Fallen Angel’ will be released on October 30 and will include six tracks in total, including the three songs from the digital EP and ’sweettooth,’ ’lockitdown,’ and ’Face.’ Among these, ’sweettooth,’ ’lockitdown,’ and ’Face’ were personally selected by Jennie for her fans and will be included only in the physical EP. The physical EP sold out immediately after pre-orders began on the 26th.
