'Happy Together' Someday, Lado, Wontak, and Jung Seyoung reunite on a terrestrial broadcast stage for the first time in 17 years

On KBS 2TV variety show ″Happy Together - Glad I’m Not Alone,″ Someday members Rado, Wontak, and Jung Seyoung appeared, performing as a complete group on a terrestrial broadcast stage for the first time in 17 years. During the broadcast, the Someday members revealed the hardships and memories from their debut days. Rado joked about the team name, saying, ″This is our first terrestrial broadcast appearance in 17 years,″ and added, ″I think we named ’Someday’ wrong. I never thought it would take 17 years.″ The members debuted in 2009 with the drama ″Boys Over Flowers″ OST ″Do You Know,″ which ranked number one on the Minihompy BGM chart and number six on ″Music Bank.″ However, despite the song’s popularity, reality was tough. Jung Seyoung revealed, ″We barely earned any income from our activities. Our only real source of income was wedding songs,″ and Rado recalled, ″We earned about 500,000 won per wedding song. We each took 100,000 won as pocket money and used the rest to go to Hanshin Pocha.″ Wontak shared a story about saving on costume expenses by ″sharing clothes with each other.″ There were also stories about financial difficulties. Rado said, ″I lived with the door open. A thief came in but left because there was nothing to take. Anyone could tell he was a thief,″ adding that the members were so undernourished at the time that they were physically thin. Rado confessed, ″We never really got to live like normal people. We didn’t have money for bus fare or meals. Everything was so frustrating.″ Regarding the moment he gave up on his dream of becoming a singer, Rado explained, ″There are things that don’t work out no matter how much you try and endure. It was the first time I thought, ’This isn’t something that endurance will solve,’″ and added, ″There comes a moment in life when you have to let go of what’s most precious. That’s when I let go.″ He also revealed that the members’ decisions to go their separate ways were driven by the need to make a living. Afterward, Rado transitioned to a composer and producer, working with Black Eyed Pilseung and creating hit songs for various artists including TWICE and SISTAR, and also gained recognition as the producer of the group STAYC. He married Apink member Yoon Bomi last May. On the show, Someday members performed a cover of 4Men’s ″Confession,″ receiving applause after the stage. Yoon Jongshin praised, ″Rado sings so well. He’s Korea’s Boyz II Men,″ and said, ″Seeing their skills, I understood why the three of them insisted on continuing to sing through such difficult times. They endured because they were this good.″ Jung Seyoung and Rado shed tears after the performance, and Rado shared, ″Seventeen years ago, when we dreamed, no one recognized us, and I realized life doesn’t go as you want. No matter how hard you try, sometimes it just doesn’t work out. I clenched my teeth and worked harder. I worked as if my life depended on it, and meeting good situations and people brought me here. It’s unbelievable and deeply moving to be singing those songs now.″
